HVAC Repair Across Los Angeles County

The short answer

EliteCore HVAC Solutions provides HVAC repair, maintenance and installation across much of Los Angeles County, from coastal cities to inland neighborhoods. We adjust recommendations to each area's climate, housing stock and utility provider.

Los Angeles County covers a lot of ground, and the heating and cooling needs change noticeably from one end of it to the other. From our base in Culver City, EliteCore HVAC Solutions travels to communities roughly 15 miles out in several directions, from the beach cities of Santa Monica, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach to Burbank and Glendale in the north and Compton, Carson and Paramount to the south and southeast. We repair air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps and ductless systems, and we install new equipment when repair no longer makes sense. This overview explains how conditions differ across the county and how that shapes the work we do.

Coast versus inland: two different cooling problems

Near the ocean, in places like El Segundo, Hermosa Beach and Santa Monica, summers stay mild and many homes run their AC only on a handful of hot days. Those systems often sit idle for long stretches, so the problems we find are corroded coils from salt air, seized fan motors and stuck contactors on units that were not maintained.

Farther inland, in Burbank, Glendale, South Gate or Huntington Park, summer afternoons run much hotter and air conditioners work hard for months. There, the common failures are worn capacitors, overheated compressors and attic ducts that leak cooled air into hot spaces. Fall Santa Ana winds can push heat and dust everywhere, including the coast, which is why a system that seemed fine in July can struggle in October.

Older homes, condos and everything in between

Much of the housing in communities like Inglewood, Lennox, Hawthorne and Lynwood is older single-story stucco, often with a furnace in a hall closet and ducts running through a shallow attic. Beverly Hills and View Park-Windsor Hills include larger homes with multiple systems or zones. West Hollywood and Santa Monica have many condos and apartments where equipment sits on rooftops or in tight closets.

Each setup brings its own access challenges, and we plan visits around them.

  • Attic air handlers and duct runs in pre-war and mid-century homes
  • Wall furnaces and floor furnaces in older bungalows
  • Rooftop condensers on condo and apartment buildings
  • Ductless mini-splits added to rooms and conversions that ducts never reached

Utilities and rules that vary by address

Which utility serves your home matters when you replace equipment. Homes in the City of Los Angeles are generally served by LADWP, whose residential customers can apply for rebates on qualifying heat pump systems after installation. Many other cities in the county are served by Southern California Edison instead, with different programs, so we confirm the current offer for your address before quoting any rebate.

Gas furnace replacements across the region fall under South Coast AQMD Rule 1111, which limits NOx emissions and has been amended toward zero-emission requirements. We check current compliance dates when planning a replacement.

FAQ

Common questions

Don’t see your question? Call (213) 463-7463 and we’ll talk it through.

Which parts of Los Angeles County do you serve?

We cover communities around our Culver City base, including Los Angeles, Inglewood, Santa Monica, the South Bay beach cities, Burbank, Glendale, Compton, Carson and many others.

Do coastal homes really need air conditioning?

Many coastal homes use it only on hot days, but Santa Ana spells and heat waves can make it worthwhile. Idle systems still need occasional maintenance.

Is my home served by LADWP or Southern California Edison?

It depends on the address. Homes inside the City of Los Angeles are generally LADWP, while many surrounding cities are served by Edison. Your utility bill shows which one.

Can you work on rooftop units at condo buildings?

Yes. We service rooftop condensers and package units, coordinating access with building management when needed.

Do you repair older wall and floor furnaces?

Yes. We diagnose and repair older gas heaters and can explain replacement options, including heat pumps, when a repair is no longer sensible.
